The Federal Government has officially announced Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1 as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government. He congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and encouraged them to uphold the values of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace.
In a statement released by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the Minister urged Nigerians to use this festive period as an opportunity to pray for national peace, stability, and prosperity. He emphasized the importance of love, forgiveness, and unity in fostering a harmonious society.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also advised citizens to celebrate the occasion safely and responsibly, encouraging them to extend kindness and support to the less privileged as a reflection of the true essence of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr.
On behalf of the Federal Government, he conveyed warm Eid Mubarak wishes to all Muslim faithful, praying that the blessings of the season bring joy, success, and fulfillment to everyone.
