WACSI Next Generation Internship Program is created in response to an identified need for structured practical capacity enhancement for young West Africans.
The WASCI internship is a fully funded opportunity that support interns fully with a flight to and from their home country, furnished accommodation, lunch during working days for the duration of the internship, and a monthly stipend.

WACSI Next Generation Internship Details:
The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is a regional non-governmental organisation dedicated to enhancing the capacities of civil society organisations in West Africa toward greater sustainability and operational and development effectiveness.
As part of its effort to deepen engagement with broader civil society organisation platforms in Nigeria, WACSI established a nodal office (WACSI Node) in Abuja in November 2025 to cater for the capacity strengthening needs of civil society groups and formations in the country.
WACSI is therefore looking for an intern interested in enhancing his/her civic consciousness and developing his/her professional capacity.
The intern will be embedded in WACSI’s core areas of work and will be responsible for providing the necessary support in the planning and implementation of the Institute’s activities in WACSI Node Nigeria.
Requirements for WACSI Next Generation Internship 2026:
To be considered for the WASCI Internship, you must meet the following:
Have a minimum of a first degree in international affairs, political science, public policy, law, development studies, or related fields.
Show an interest in civil society and non-profit organization management.
Job role and Responsibilities
Conduct desktop research on policy and legislative issues
Assist in gathering information and writing reports for policy meetings
Assist in policy meetings and workshop preparation
Assist in the development of policy advocacy training tool
Support other administrative tasks.
Duration and Reward of the WACSI Next Generation Internship
This is a fully funded internship by WACSI. The institute will support interns fully with a flight to and from their home country, furnished accommodation, lunch during working days for the duration of the internship, and a monthly stipend.
The successful intern will spend a substantial part of her/his internship at the WACSI office in Abuja, Nigeria.
