To be recall, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB started the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME on 14th of January, 2023 and closed the registration portal on 22nd of February, 2023.
During the registration process, the examination board ask prospective candidates if they’re interested in the UTME mock also called pre-examination test to prepare them ahead of the main examination.
As announced by the examination board, the pre examination test, UTME mock examination will hold on Thursday, 16th of March, 2023. Remember that, the examination is not compulsory, but is necessary for preparation ahead of the main examination.
Candidates are curious and asking different questions as regards the Mock examination. Questions like:
If I don’t seat for Jamb mock examination, will I be allow to seat for the main examination?. The answer to this question is Yes, and is not a requirement or criteria to participate in the main 2023 UTME examination.
Will the UTME mock exam score be added to my main examination score?. And to this question is No, the score is not added to the main exam.Will I meet the same questions i answered in mock exam in main exam?. The answer to this question is No, mock exam is different from main examination, the exam us just to prepare candidates ahead of the main examination to know the level of their preparation.
How many subjects will I answered in mock exam?. The answer is Four subjects (4), the three main subjects you picked during the registration and English Language as compulsory subject for all candidates.

The pre examination test was introduced in 2017 to familiarize all candidates with the computer based examination, most especially candidates that are not familiar with Computer and since then, it has been a culture and been repeated yearly for candidates that shows interest.
The main purpose of the test is to access candidates on the level of their preparation for the main Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME to rate themselves and to know area to work on before the main examination.
Also, the examination will enable the examination board to access the systems in each approved accredited Jamb Computer Based Test (CBT) and to repair all faulty systems before the main examination and to prepares the CBT centres and give them insight into how they should handle candidates on the day of Examination.
Also note that, the printing of 2023 UTME mock examination slip is yet to commence as at the time of composing this article. The mock exam slip will indicate the date, venue, time and subjects for each candidates.
Remember, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB announced that candidates will be call into the examination hall one (1) hour to the commencement of the exam.
As said by JAMB, part of the review exercise held on Monday are, Proctors are also tasked to refrain from bringing their mobile phones into the examination hall, charging such phones in the examination hall, or engaging in any communication with outsiders during the examination.
