The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star has been deeply concerned by the tragic scenes that have left a huge death toll and severely impacted people’s lives. And Ronaldo has sent a plane full of aid to the areas devastated by the disaster as he looks to help those affected, Daily Mail reports Sunday.
The Portugal and Madrid legend has paid for tents, food packages, pillows and blankets, beds, baby food and milk and medical supplies to help aid the humanitarian effort.
There is hope Ronaldo’s gesture will encourage other sporting figures to follow suit in the coming days and weeks.
Footage emerged on Friday of Ronaldo greeting a young Syrian boy who said it was his dream to meet the ex-Real Madrid and Man Utd forward.
It is not the first time Ronaldo has made such generous donations.
